The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) welcomed the Amending the “Innovative Startup Act” (House Bill No. 610) filed by Bataan First District Representative Tony Roman.
DTI Bataan Provincial Director Ei Ocampo said they plan to ask more about the bill when they pay courtesy visit to the new congressman. “We will take the opportunity to ask more about the bill when we visit him,” she said. “For sure, the bill is meant to help startups and small businesses,” she added.
It may be recalled that the Bataan Peninsula State University honored Roman, then a board member as an innovation champion for his efforts in promoting innovation in the province.
Roman was the author of the Bataan Startup Ecosystem and Sandbox Ordinance, which supports individuals in developing and testing business ideas.
